Art Jewelry

Vivid Gems International (VGI) wishes to promote the concept of “Art Jewelry” as jewelry that has significant artistic monetary value in addition to the valuation of the materials used.  For a large part of the twentieth century, great fashion houses like Cartier, Vuitton, Bulgari and Hermes together with many individual prominent designers have created jewelry with new imaginative and creative designs that have been popular with buyers and collectors highly enhanced by their brand recognition and marketing prowess.  By the second half of the century, notable Asians jewelry designers like Wallace Chan, Cindy Chao and Anna Hu without prior branding recognition in their beginnings have pushed the envelope of Art Jewelry to newer heights by using newer creative concepts combined with less traditional color gemstones and titanium, ceramic and others to produce adornments to high fashion in which the emphasis on art may in fact exceed that of gold and precious gems.

The Art Jewelry made by the name-brand giants or by the current creative masters are hardly commercially available to everyday users and collectors because of its rarity.  Vivid Gems International believes that Art Jewelry deserves to be classified as its own class of jewelry, and as such, should be made more available to a wider group of buyers than to the exclusive few.
